Cooking Schools
|
Today more than ever, a career in the culinary world offers many possibilities. Worldwide, there is an ever-growing interest in fine dining, and the culinary arts is one of the fastest growing professional fields. In addition to working in fine restaurants, graduates of cooking schools are successful in catering, writing, media, sales and entrepreneurial ventures.
Not all cooking schools are the same. Some cooking schools offer Le Cordon Bleu diplomas; others include pastry and baking classes. You may also be interested in Hospitality & Management courses. When choosing which cooking school is best for you, you should keep in mind several factors: the location of the school, the cost of attendance, class size, the quality of the program facilities, and whether or not the program is accredited. Decide whether you are interested in a very specific program devoted to a single area of interest or a broader program that covers the fundamentals of the culinary arts. Try to get a sense of the cooking school's reputation. You may also wish to learn if a particular program offers job placement assistance after graduation.
